Company principal-in-charge of all construction consulting services, including providing independent technical support and review of operations to solve or avoid common construction problems with foundations, concrete, masonry, and structural steel. Perform existing building surveys using infrared thermography to locate moisture infiltration and components of structural masonry construction. Perform QA reviews of precast and ready mix concrete plant operations. Provide material and construction method consulting for owners, engineers, and contractors.

Responsible for the technical and administrative direction of the Broomall, PA office of U.S Laboratories. Opened this new branch office in July of 2001, and oversaw fit-out and startup of a local office that grew to include services ranging from existing building evaluations to environmental services, design, and construction monitoring and management. At peak of operation, was involved in management of services for over $2 billion in construction. Senior Project Manager for significant construction projects such as Wyeth’s Worldwide Headquarters in Collegeville, Lincoln Financial Field (the Philadelphia Eagles football stadium), Citizen’s Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies baseball park), and Philadelphia International Airport International terminal . Provided technical consulting, design review, code compliance, and forensic evaluations of pavements, bridges, and buildings. Also provided technical consulting to clients from the West Berlin, NJ, Rahway, NJ, and Atlantic City, NJ offices for projects including the Borgata Hotel & Casino, and the New Jersey Devils hockey arena.

Manager of local commercial construction inspection division and provided consulting services to engineers, construction managers, facility owners, and real estate developers. Key projects included Dockside Residences at Pier 30 (16 story post-tensioned concrete frame building), Wyeth Ayerst Great Valley Phase 2, SEI Investments Phase 3 office building and parking garage, PNI Parking Garage, Macy’s at Willow Grove Park Mall, Philadelphia Geriatric Center, and the Gateway Visitor’s Center at the new Constitution Center. In charge of personnel and field services, and planned and managed in-house laboratory upgrade and renovation.
VALLEY FORGE LABORATORIES (18 YEARS)

Responsible for managing quality control and quality assurance services for company’s clients in the construction industry on all active projects. Managed as many as 70 projects concurrently. Attended project meetings, and wrote proposals and Quality Control plans for all projects, including commercial and government. Perform all client contact as well as daily management of 20 field engineers and inspectors. Technical manager for the department, reviewing or preparing all technical and test reports for transmittal to clients. In charge of evaluation of existing concrete and steel structures, especially exposed structures with durability problems, such as bridges and parking garages. Project Manager for the following construction projects: Wachovia Center (19,000 seat arena for Philadelphia Flyers ice hockey team, and 76ers basketball team), Wyeth Ayerst Great Valley, University of PA Huntsman Hall (Wharton School), Philadelphia Airport Terminal F, NFL Films, Vanguard Building 700, Vanguard 80 Acre Site (Buildings 800, 900, and 1000), Glaxo Smithkline at 3 Franklin Plaza, SAP America Headquarters, Liacouras Center (10,000 seat Temple University Basketball arena), Temple Shriner Hospital, and over 50 school projects.
Forensic Investigations. Various locations. Served as project manager and principal investigator on numerous evaluations of existing buildings, such as schools, office buildings, and industrial facilities, along with concrete bridges and pavements, steel bridges, steel roof joist systems, historic structures, parking garages, and asphalt pavements. Performed field investigations, monitoring of building performance, and prepared final report with existing condition surveys and conclusions and recommendations for improvements or rehabilitation strategies.
