Roger Schmedlen has served as an opinion expert on over
70 litigation cases in venues ranging from Arkansas to South

Expert witness clients have included United States District
Courts and the U.S. Department of Justice as well as both
plaintiff and defense attorneys.
Security Consulting Services:
Mr. Schmedlen provides a wide range of security consulting
services, ranging from routine physical security surveys/risk
analyses to development of executive protection programs
and product adulteration contingency planning programs.
Additionally, project specific consulting services are
available, as well as assistance and even security management
during critical events and crisis situations. A detailed

Security consulting clients have included the U.S. Department
of Justice and other public sector entities--Public School
District, Major City Hall Complex, Large Police Department,
District Court. Mr. Schmedlen has provided risk analyses
and security consulting services for Fortune 500 businesses,
retail chains, insurance companies, trucking firms, manufacturers,
warehouses and sovereign American Indian communities, both
in North America and overseas. He has conducted comprehensive
security surveys/risk analyses, at facilities ranging from
6,000 employees to as few as five. In addition to programs
involving physical security and systems, executive protection
and contingency planning, Mr. Schmeden has assisted in the
development of specialized and, in some cases, unique loss
control programs. While most of his clients have sought economical
mid-level security, he has also worked with high-risk subjects
Security Expert's Background:
Roger H. Schmedlen is board certified in security management. He
is a professional security practitioner, not a teacher
or a retired law enforcement officer. (He has, however, lectured
on this subject to college classes and was employed to conduct
a comprehensive security survey of the police headquarters
in a city of 100,000 residents.) Mr. Schmedlen has over 35
years of real world experience in the private sector field
of loss control, security, and investigations.
Mr. Schmedlen has held membership in many security & investigative
industry associations for 20 - 30 years and is a founding
member of two such organizations. He has served in
a variety of positions with these groups and has testified
before various legislative bodies concerning proposed laws
which would impact the security industry. For eleven
years he was elected by his peers to serve on an advisory
board to the Michigan State Police.
He is the author of many security related articles appearing
in publications such as Security Management, Massachusetts
Lawyers Weekly, Missouri Lawyers Weekly, The International
Councillor, Avenues of Credit, Campus Safety & Student
Development and many others--and has contributed to
several of the Security Business Practices References published
by the American Society for Industrial Security International.
