Airbag System Design and Safety Experts

Dr. Hensler has experience in designing airbag systems including electronic sensor algorithm development. He was formerly the  Director of R&D for a major airbag/restraints and airbag sensor supplier. During the early 1990's, his former employer  was responsible for overseeing the crash performance of more than 50% of airbag systems on the road in that  time period. He has a PhD in Physics from Rutgers University and   holds a patent regarding airbag crash sensing, as well as over thirty publications including 5 related to the airbag industry.

He focuses on litigation involving the malfunction of airbag systems including mechanical and electrical component failures and deployment algorithm design and calibration. Typical cases involve inadvertent deployments, failure to deploy, and deployments resulting in injury to automobile occupants.

Services include review of accident, defining strategy to use in litigation, inspection of vehicle and key components including airbag module, inflator, clock spring, electromechanical or electronic sensors, ignition/initiation systems, occupant sensors, rollover detection and deployment electronics/ algorithm. He also has expertise in tire pressure sensing and vehicle window safety systems
