New Business Promotion

Hey all,

I created my Investigations firm here in Boise, Idaho about 5 months ago. I've been trying to network and market the new business, but with little success. This has included contacting legal firms, craigslist and zidaho.com postings.

Is there any suggestions that anyone can give me for effectively promoting my business?

1. Few hundred dollars to create website + few thousands dollars and 6-10 months to put it in top 10. I do not have good website because I deal directly with people from Ukraine who are in direct contact with me but not through website. My website is just business card. But believe me, good functional website will work very much but it needs also a lot of money.

2. Live contact. Here's ecerything depends how you can represent yourself and which reputation will earn for the future.

3. Magazines, papers, catalogues by post.

4. Contacts with attorneys

I agree - the web is extremely important these days and you must have one if you're going to compete. Most PIs I know get a great deal of business from their website.

There are two ways 1 is local promotion through newspaper, local advertising and all other means.
the other is over Internet spend few hundred dollars and get your website on top results of major search engines.

Absolutely the internet is where you need to focus. Specifically search marketing is where the bulk of customers seem to be found these days. Search marketing can be divided into three areas: 1. Pay per click (ads at the very top and along the right on Google search results) 2. Organic/natural listing (the main results section on Google) 3. Maps/Local Business listings (the map along with business listings that shows up for certain searches, including things like "private investigator").
